I have about 30 Dell systems of various models at home and at work.  Most of these are left on 24 hours a day with no problems.

All dell systems are build with superior quality. The ony difference between the 2400 and the 4600 or even the XPS are what is put into them. For example a graphics card is not put into a 2400 while in a XPS it is standard. Theretically the more stuff in a computer the more likely it is somethign will break so thinking theretically the 2400 would be best to leave on all day. However for cutting edge graphics and preformance Id go with a high end model, maybe if we could help you tell us what you will be using it for

I have a new (1/04) XPS and leave it on 24/7. Easier than waiting for it to boot up every time I want to use it & also because I run my SETI at home (looking for little green men) 24/7. Just my opinion though

Hope this helps
